Electricity infrastructure: The WP investigates flexible and dynamic consumption patterns and new grid designs. A number of innovative add-ons to the current grid layout will be developed and evaluated for grid performance and financial feasibility.
Nordhavn represent a new urban area where the most of the characteristics of a future load scenario are expected to be found and hence, a potential laboratory for development of new methods and insights.
The development work will include three main tasks. Prediction of load is currently based on predictable consumption patterns distribution on predetermined end-user categories. In the future the load is expected to be stochastic for various reasons and the project attempt to develop a method to cope with this game-changing condition. Second, the grid design philosophy in the future may count on a various services to cope with the stochastic nature of the load and may be a less isolated technical task in the future. The project consider how grid design should approach this future situation. Finally, the project test control strategies and operation conditions for an installed battery with a view to provide services in relation to the above mentioned issues.
